1 RUE BEAUDOIN - 95450 VIGNY
Description
Although there is evidence of a manor house in Vigny as early as 1337, a real château appears to have been built around 1504 only, by Cardinal George I d'Amboise, Prime Minister of Louis XII. Anne de Montmorency, a symbol of the Renaissance, acquired the estate in 1555 after the death of Charles II. The motto ‘Alpanos’ still appears at the castle's main entrance. The Montmorency family held it for 139 years (1555-1694). The castle then passed from aristocratic family to aristocratic family until the 18th century. Philippe Vitali acquired the château in 1867. He decided to have it remodelled in the neo-Gothic-Troubadour style by the architect Charles-Henri Cazaux. In 1922, the Château was bought by Count Robert Le Coat de Kerveguen, whose family sold it in 1992. After a brief time where a Japanese company decided to organise cookery courses there, the château was bought back in 2016. Listed as a Historic Monument since 1984, it is currently being restored. The concerts will be held outdoors in the park.

33 GRANDE RUE - 95280 JOUY-LE-MOUTIER
Description
The church of the Nativité de la Sainte-Vierge is thought to have been built as early as the 12th century, with the bell tower dating from the 1130s. A first nave without aisles and the west façade were built at the same time. Between 1220 and 1240, a new choir was built by the Paris canons. The nave and aisles were also rebuilt. In the early 16th century, the west façade, nave and aisles were extensively remodelled in the flamboyant Gothic style. The porch on the north wall was built at the same time. The church houses a 14th-century statue of the Virgin Mary and Child. It is typical of the style of the Virgins of Tenderness, whose iconography became widespread at this time. The church also has stained glass windows depicting Saint-Leu, patron saint of the parish. It has been listed as a Historic Monument since 1908 and can seat around a hundred people.

1 RUE DE L’AUDIENCE - 95780 LA ROCHE-GUYON
Description
The first La Roche-Guyon castle was invisible, carved entirely out of the rock. When a main building was constructed at the foot of the cliff in the 13th century, a solid stone keep was built on top of the hill. Defended by a double spur-shaped wall, it was linked to the manor house by a secret passage. But it was during the Age of Enlightenment that the Duc de La Rochefoucauld and his daughter, the Duchesse d'Enville, undertook major renovation work. A monumental entrance, stables, pavilions and terraces were added to the medieval fortress. Turgot, Condorcet and Young met in the Grand Salon, the Library and the Petit Théâtre, the castle's secret jewel. In the 19th century, the Duke of Rohan inherited the estate. After the tragic death of his young wife, he became a cardinal and refurbished the former troglodyte chapel. Victor Hugo, Lamartine and Montalembert stayed at the château. In the 20th century, the former fortress was once again used for military purposes, with Rommel and his staff moving there in 1944. The Château is now open to the public. Concerts are held in the gallery on the first floor, which can seat 80 people. A medieval keep, 18th-century stables, an orchard and an English garden complete the tour.
Accessibility
Unfortunately, the monumental staircase leading up to the gallery makes the room inaccessible to wheelchairs. However, you can let us know in advance if you are visually (or otherwise) impaired, and we will make sure to save you a seat close to the stage.
Parking
Free parking is available by turning right at the roundabout at the entrance of the village. From here, it's just a five-minute walk to the Château.
